Cumberland Strategies is expanding our team and looking for a content creation, marketing and events associate to join our Toronto Office. Knowledge of government, politics or government affairs is considered an asset. Applicants should consider themselves well organized, possess strong communication skills, be entrepreneurial, and above all be a team player. The role is a 4-month contract with potential for extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Cumberland Strategies’ website with an eye to refining it, including making updates, publishing new content, and building landing pages
  • Running Cumberland Strategies’ social media accounts and developing strategies to help grow our profile and following through different tactics like running paid LinkedIn ads
  • Develop copy for various marketing campaigns across a variety of digital platforms (i.e. web, social media, blogs, email, etc.)
  • Update and maintain a variety of marketing collateral including presentations and fact sheets, and ensuring that they adhere to Cumberland Strategies brand guidelines
  • Own our content calendar and our content pipeline, ensure content is put out on time, is highly relevant to our prospects and customers, and is of high editorial quality.
  • Create content focus on driving relevant traffic to our site and convincing prospects to convert into known leads.
  • Be familiar with SEO, Google Analytics, and Google ads/ranking and how to incorporate strategies to improve content performance. Develop outlines to help us rank for highly competitive keywords
  • Track, analyze, and report on key marketing metrics. Comprehend and report on content’s contribution to the business across multiple metrics of success, including but not limited to high-level metrics such as visits, keywords ranked for, form fills, new email subscribers, social media metrics, etc…
  • Be responsible for operations and logistics of internal and external in-person or virtual events and/or campaigns
  • Create and execute plans in the areas of event management for Cumberland Strategies in-person and virtual events.

About you:

  • Enjoy crafting content that is engaging and insightful
  • Excellent research skills with an ability to understand a variety of current events, public policy and government affairs. Interested in politics/public affairs
  • Possess good time management
  • You are extremely organized, comfortable managing timelines and deliverables for multiple projects at a time.
  • Skills that are considered an asset but not mandatory: video and photo editing, Salesforce and Pardot, WordPress
